Dear Poets and Readers,

First, let’s give thanks for the brilliant contributions to the previous issue on Peace and Against War.

Welcome to the August 2007 of Poetry Life & Times, dedicated to Climate Chaos and Earth’s Revenge.

Featured poets this month include --in random order:
Geraldine Moorkens Byrne, Gordon Ramel, Len Bourret, Ian Thorpe, Taylor Graham, Jim Dunlap, Deborah P Kolodji, David Harrington and Ed Kostro.

This month we're also pleased to present an interview with Ian Thorpe,  well-known by readers, introducing Jenny Greenteeth –a most pleasant creature to meet.

Resident poets and The Perils of Norris  (c. Sara L. Russell) feature Robin Ouzman Hislop, Michael Burch, Helga Ross and Sara L. Russell. (For Norris' fans: There is a complete sonnet about Norris's name, which will unfold further next month...).

We are also introducing Just Suibhne So : an 11-page poetry collection featuring Suibhne as central character,  by our Editor Robin Ouzman Hislop, second book of his Second Trilogy.

The First Trilogy, also available online, includes: Hinterland 2000; Blue Corn 2002; and  After the Cave, the Comet 2004 . The second trilogy includes: Least Assuages Revisited and the above quoted Just Suibhne So. You have the right to PDF it now or leave comments or blog at our interactive files but copyright reserves all rights of publication or any other use without the permission of the author. Readers' views and comments are welcome (click) as well as visual art /illustrations for Just Suibhne So and his other poetry books.

A poll asking  poets and readers for their favourite topics/subjects/themes is still open to vote: so far, “The role of artists and poets in a Future System” has obtained most votes. However, it does seem to be more suitable for a Forum or any other format.

Of interest to sonnetteers, especially as in our September issue we will feature several, might be the message by this week's feature poet
Deborah P Kolodji (see below as well), announcing a free subscription sonnet contest with prizes. And for those who still wish to know what a sonnet is, or "When A Sonnet is A Sonnet", see Richard Vallance's erudite article with survey responses from many poets known to PLT, at Sonnetto Poesia.

Looking forward to your poems...

Please remember to follow our new  submission guidelines: Only original poems and articles will be considered for publication.
